Any p
ilot who has flown a plane with hand-operated flaps has had the experience of leaning over to find the handle during take offs and landing when we need to be focused outside the aircraft. This configuration is particularly true on older aircraft like Cessnas and Cherokees. An inventor in Los Angeles has created a simple devise that extends the flap handle so that it’s in front of you (instead of below you)and is easy to adjust the flaps when you need to.
The product is called EZ Flap STC and allows the pilot to reach the flap handle without bending down and forward, or without releasing the shoulder harness, to operate the flaps. The inventor says that the EZ Flap STC is helpful to tall and short pilots alike, but the tall pilots will find it especially helpful.
